OUR MISSION ​

There are many organizations that deal with ASD/Asperger's Syndrome, Sensory Integration and related Neurobiological Learning Disorders, each with a specific purpose or goal. However our goal/mission is to reach, serve and network parents/caregivers in the local communities of Brooklyn where our children tend to "fall between the cracks" and we are "geographically challenged". A big hurdle we as parents/caregivers have, is to find services and programs. While there are resources, many innovative diagnostic, therapeutic and academic intervention programs are outside of Brooklyn. For neurodiverse children/individuals like yours and mine who need the challenge of academics, exposure to and interaction with neurotypical peers, but could benefit from the "extras" only available in specialized schools/programs, this can be daunting and a challenge. This can also pose a challenge for Neurodiverse individuals who need academic modifications but not the restriction of a self contained classroom/program in a special school or program. Our goal is to provide a place where parents/caregivers can come together to share resources to build a local directory, network, get information, find support and most importantly help bring awareness to our community. There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of an organization he or she believes in. We believe that by banding and working together, we CAN make change. By building an effective web site, we hope to get our message out to a larger audience of people interested in similar issues.
